Mercer University School of Medicine (MUSM) has partnered with Tanner Health to establish a new clinical campus in Carrollton, Georgia. Beginning July 2026, third- and fourth-year medical students will complete their core clerkships and advanced rotations at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton and affiliated regional facilities.
This collaboration strengthens MUSM’s mission to prepare physicians to serve rural underserved communities in Georgia. Students training in Carrollton will benefit from hands-on experience in a high-quality, patient-centered health system while gaining insight into the unique challenges of rural health care.

Meet the Carrollton Clinical Campus Leadership
Students at the Carrollton campus will be supported by a team of experienced Tanner Health physicians serving as clerkship directors. Each director provides mentorship, oversight and training in their specialty:
Yolonda Brown, clinical rotation supervisor, provides on-site student support, while Tim Paul, MD, senior vice president of medical affairs and chief quality officer at Tanner Health (pictured on right), serves as associate dean of the Carrollton campus.
