Financial arrangements

Each patient’s insurance plan varies. You should discuss ambulatory surgery with your employer or private insurance carrier to determine your specific insurance coverage.

All charges that are not covered by insurance are your responsibility to pay at the time you leave the hospital. Personal checks, many types of insurance, Visa and MasterCard are accepted.

Patient bills

All Tanner Health System patient balances are due within 10 days of statement receipt unless prior arrangements are made.

For your convenience, itemized bills will be provided upon request. You can call 770-812-9566 and select “option 2” to request an itemized bill or discuss payment arrangements.

Outpatient and Physician Billing

Your hospital bill includes only hospital charges.

You may receive a separate bill from Tanner Medical Group, primary care and specialty practices. You also may receive separate bills for outpatient and other services such as radiology, laboratory and pathology services.

Physicians’ professional services are billed separately. You may receive separate bills from the surgeon, anesthesiologist, pathologist (if tissue samples are examined) and radiologist (if X-rays are taken). These physicians are not employees of the Tanner Health System.
