When It Comes to Coronavirus, Trust Reliable Sources for Accurate Information

Global health experts are working to address an outbreak of a new, or “novel,” respiratory disease — Coronavirus Disease 2019, or “COVID-19.”

The disease, first detected in Wuhan City, in the Hubei Province of China, has spread to at least 50 international locations, including the United States. In January, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) declared a public health emergency to empower the healthcare community to respond to the coronavirus.

The spread of the disease has led to a lot of distortion and hearsay. Social media makes it easy to amplify these mistruths and rumors.

State and federal agencies are working to research, track and respond to COVID-19. The healthcare team at Tanner encourages you to vet your information through these reliable sources and to monitor them for the latest information about COVID-19.
