Patient Meal Ordering App

Patient with mealMealtimes are important daily milestones for our patients during their stays, and good nutrition is essential to healing.Tanner Health System is serving up an improved dining experience for its patients with a new app for ordering meals.

Patients can download the CBORD patient meal ordering app at the beginning of their Tanner stay on either their mobile phone or tablet and then make their meal selections in the app before meals instead of using the current paper menu forms.

The CBORD app is easy and user-friendly, featuring photos of available food choices – making meals more appetizing; nutritional content, including percentages of fat, carbohydrates, sodium and protein; and personal tracking against each patient’s dietary guidelines and goals, using the Recommended Dietary Allowance (RDA) of nutritional components of a healthy diet, as set by the Food and Nutrition Board of the National Academy of Sciences.

With the new app, patients can submit their orders at any time — including ahead of tests, exams and other procedures — avoiding meal delays.

Patients without a mobile phone or tablet (or family members who can assist them with ordering on the app) will be contacted by a Hospitality Associate to complete their meal selections.

Members of the Caregiving Cycle: The Family Caregivers

Acting as a caregiver for a family member can be a rewarding experience, allowing you to spend time and care for someone you love. Caregiving covers a range of situations from those who just need a little extra help caring for themselves to those who are undergoing things such as surgery recovery, cancer treatment and terminal illness. No matter what your role is, one important factor that is often overlooked is who takes care of the caregiver.
