Tanner, Get Healthy, Live Well Postpones Classes Amid COVID-19 Outbreak

Out of an abundance of caution, Tanner Health System and Tanner’s Get Healthy, Live Well are suspending all planned classes and events through at least March 30.

While the health system still has no confirmed COVID-19 cases at any of its facilities, the decision is in line with CDC and Georgia Department of Public Health guidelines intended to limit the spread of the novel Coronavirus 2019, also called COVID-19. Health officials are urging everyone to refrain from any unnecessary social gatherings.Classroom at Tanner Medical Center in Carrollton

Whenever possible, instructors are working with registered participants to offer online or telephone classes as an alternative. The health system is working to refund any paid registrations that will be impacted by the suspension.

The decision also comes as the health system rolls its new, more stringent visitor guidelines at its five hospital facilities, also intended to help limit any possible transmission of COVID-19.

New class dates and times will be announced in the coming weeks. A list of all events scheduled later into the year is available at tanner.org/classes.

More details on the health system’s COVID-19 can be found at tanner.org/ncov.
