Tanner Home Health care professionals have a singular focus — delivering compassionate, quality care for our patients in the security and comfort of familiar surroundings. Your home may be your house, a family member’s house or a personal care home.

Skilled home health care professionals are on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our professional staff includes:

Home health care services

Tanner Home Health serves Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard and Paulding counties.

Home Health Aide

Services include personal care, encompassing bathing and comfort measures, assistance with feeding and maintenance of the patient's care area to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for the patient.

Medical Social Services

Services assess social and emotional factors, provide counseling and long-range planning, offer community resource planning and specialize in intervention and management of terminal illness to enhance comfort and peace of mind.

Occupational Therapy

Services encompass a range of techniques such as muscle re-education, perceptual motor training, fine motor coordination, neurodevelopment treatment and sensory treatment, all designed to enhance your daily function and independence.

Physical Therapy

Services incorporate a variety of techniques including gait training, therapeutic exercise, cardiopulmonary physical therapy, and prosthetic therapy as well as an assessment of the home environment for potential needs of durable medical equipment

Skilled Nursing

Our services offer a comprehensive package that includes, but is not limited to, certified wound care, diabetic education covering diet planning, intravenous (IV) therapy, assessment of the home environment and telehealth capabilities.

Speech Therapy

Services encompass a range of techniques, including enhancing auditory processing, improving verbal language expressing, developing pragmatic skills and providing training in augmentative or alternative communication methods.

Our program is licensed by the state of Georgia, certified by Medicare and Medicaid, and accredited by The Joint Commission. For more information, view our home health care resources.

Am I eligible?

You may be eligible for home health care if you are currently enrolled in Medicare or Medicaid programs and meet certain guidelines, such as:

  • Requiring considerable assistance and effort to leave home
  • Needing skilled care by a nurse, physical therapist or speech therapist
  • Currently being under the care of a doctor.

Tanner will research your private insurance or health maintenance organization (HMO) eligibility at no charge.

Tanner Health System also offers hospice care services, enabling patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that their last days may be spent with dignity.
