As west Georgia’s only community-based, nonprofit hospice provider, we work to extend our mission to every person in our community — regardless of ability to pay. To do that, we rely on community support, donations, fundraisers and more. Volunteering with Tanner Hospice Care: We need you! Our volunteers are what make Tanner Hospice Care truly special. Sometimes, what a patient in hospice care or his or her loved ones need isn’t a nurse or clinician — it’s companionship, someone to tidy up the kitchen or a ride to the grocery store. We need volunteers to: Call on patients at their home for companionship Sit with patients to allow respite to caregivers Assist with light household duties Help with running errands Hospice volunteers are a unique group of people who understand — often intimately — the important work that hospice does to help people live with dignity and compassion. Many of our volunteers have been touched by our services through their own loss of a loved one. We understand that hospice work isn’t for everyone, but for many, sharing your time and talents through Tanner Hospice Care is a meaningful way to give back to the community, support your neighbors and help patients and their loved ones alike.
