Cancer Screenings

Along with regular visits to your primary care physician, early detection of cancer when it is easier to treat is vital and can quite possibly save your life.

Below are cancer screenings that are available at Tanner or through physicians on Tanner's medical staff.

Early cancer detection could save your life

Direct Access Colonoscopy

Save time and the cost of pre-procedure appointments with Tanner's direct-access colonoscopy service.

Find out if you qualify for a direct-access colonoscopy by calling 770-812-9097.

Lung Cancer
Screening

Tanner offers a simple, non-invasive screening that can find lung cancer at its earliest stages, when it's easier to treat.

Low-dose CT screenings for lung cancer use only a small amount of X-ray radiation. This test requires no needles, medication or contrast.

Screening
Mammogram

A mammogram uses low doses of X-ray radiation to detect and diagnose diseases in the breast, including breast cancer.

Call 770-812-9721 now to schedule a screening mammogram at a convenient location.

Pap Smear

A Pap smear is a screening for cervical cancer that is recommended every three years for who have had three consecutive normal annual pap tests starting at age 18.

Ask your primary care provider or OB/GYN if you need a pap smear.

Prostate Cancer Screening

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men. Regular screenings that catch it early improve outcomes.

Men age 55 or older (or age 45 or older with a family history prostate cancer) should have a PSA test.

Skin Cancer Check

Regular skin checks to detect cancers or precancerous spots on your skin are recommended for adults starting at age 18.

While your primary care doctor can perform skin checks, they are typically performed by a dermatologist.
