Building for Her: Construction Begins on New Women’s Health Expansion at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica

Construction is officially underway on the future home of women’s and family health care at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica.

This month, crews have been preparing the site for one of the hospital’s largest expansions to date, designed to provide greater access to expand a host of health services, increase capacity and meet the unique healthcare needs of a fast-growing region.

The expansion will also make more room for our patients and space for our teams, as well as reduce the need for patients to travel long distances for quality care.

In the coming weeks, construction teams will continue working on the project’s initial phases on the ground level and preparing to install a tower crane onsite.

Building Better Care for Women and Families Across the Region

The health system is thankful for the continued support from our patients, care teams, partners and community as we make way for more high-quality health care close to home and throughout the region we serve.

“We are a not-for-profit community healthcare system, and ensuring we are here for local residents is what drives our mission every day,” shared Eric Dalton, executive vice president and chief executive officer for Tanner Health, during a recent interview with the Douglas County Chamber magazine about the health system’s expansion.
