Location:

Your city, GA 00000
Class/Event Description:

While pregnancy and the birth of a child are usually joyful and exciting times in a woman's life, some struggle with their mental health as they make the transition to motherhood. Psychiatric disorders such as anxiety and depression may surface during or after pregnancy. Some people even experience birth-related PTSD or postpartum psychosis following childbirth.

Join Yesha Thakkar, MD, a psychiatrist with Willowbrooke Psychiatric Center, to earn continuing medical education (CME) credit as you learn more about the psychiatric disorders that can affect women during and after pregnancy.

Make sure your computer or other device has audio available prior to the meeting so you can hear the Zoom presentation.

Following this virtual CME, attendees will be able to:

  • Describe the methods for screening and treatment of psychiatric disorders during pregnancy
  • Review screening and treatment of postpartum depression and psychosis
  • Define the criteria for diagnosis of postpartum mood and anxiety disorders in women
  • Discuss the risk versus benefit analysis of psychiatric medication during postpartum and breastfeeding

You will receive a Zoom link to join the teleconference in your registration confirmation email.
