Tanner Hospice Care Earns ‘Premier Performer’ Designation for Soaring Patient Satisfaction

Tanner Hospice Care has been recognized by Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP) as a “Premier Performer,” achieving an overall caregiver and family satisfaction score that ranked in the top 5% of all eligible SHP clients for the 2021 calendar year.

SHP provides data analytics and benchmarking to help healthcare organizations drive daily clinical and operational decisions. Since 1996, SHP has helped more than 7,000 organizations nationwide improve their healthcare performance.Tanner Hospice Care SHP BEST logo

The annual SHPBest™ award program acknowledges hospice providers that consistently provide high quality service to families and caregivers of patients receiving hospice care.

The 2021 award recipients were determined by reviewing and ranking the overall Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (CAHPS) Hospice survey satisfaction score for more than 1,000 hospice providers. With one of the largest CAHPS Hospice benchmarks in the nation, SHP is in a unique position to identify and recognize organizations that have made family and caregiver satisfaction a priority and have been rewarded for their efforts with high marks on the CAHPS Hospice survey.

“SHP is proud to present the SHPBest awards to our top-performing customers. We commend these organizations for their continuous focus on delivering the highest quality of care to their patients,” said Rob Paulsson, president of SHP.

Tanner Hospice Care, part of Tanner Health System, provides medical, emotional and spiritual support for people who are nearing life’s end. The team’s philosophy is to care for the whole person — helping individuals remain at home, alert and comfortable in an atmosphere of kindness, compassion and dignity. Tanner Hospice Care staff also provide bereavement counseling and respite to family members as they come to terms with a loved one’s illness.

The service provides care to those in Carroll, Coweta, Douglas, Haralson, Heard and Paulding counties.

“This is a huge honor for us,” said Debbie Brock, director of Tanner Hospice Care. “Our team does such a great job not only clinically, but emotionally and spiritually for our patients and their families. It’s wonderful to see the love they show their patients reflected back through these high satisfaction scores. We’re blessed to do what we do.”
