Therefore, without formal training in ethical and evidence-based trauma mental health practice, counselors are at risk for practicing outside the bounds of their clinical competency. This experiential training has been developed to meet the ACA and NASW requirements for ethical and competency-based trauma mental health practice. As a result of this training, participants will demonstrate a trauma-informed attitude and foundational trauma knowledge including the ethical practice of competency-based trauma mental health.
