Physician Referral and Insurance Reimbursement
A physician referral may be necessary for some dietitian services.
The referral provides the dietitian with the medical background information needed to plan the counseling session so you receive the unique attention you require. Often, a physician referral may also be necessary to have the counseling covered by your insurance.
