April Anthony, NP-C, a family nurse practitioner with deep roots in the Randolph County community, has joined
Russell Peterson, DO, at Tanner Primary Care of Roanoke.
The practice — formerly Randolph Medical Associates — offers services for the whole family, including chronic disease management for high blood pressure, diabetes and other diseases; cardiac testing; preventive care; physical exams for athletics, employment and the Department of Transportation; weight management services; women’s health appointments, including Pap tests and clinical breast exams; worker’s compensation cases and other services.
"I’m excited to continue serving families in our area," said Anthony. "I welcome my former patients as well as new patients throughout our neighboring counties. It’s an honor to be entrusted with the wellness of those in our community, and I look forward to working with Dr. Peterson to advance healthcare in east Alabama."
Anthony most recently saw patients at the Roanoke Rural Health Clinic. She also serves as medical director at the Randolph County Jail in Wedowee and as medical director of the Tri-County Children’s Advocacy Center, which serves Chamber, Randolph and Tallapoosa counties. Anthony formerly practiced at the Wedowee Clinic — now
Tanner Primary Care of Wedowee.
She earned her master’s in nursing at Troy University in Troy, Alabama, and her bachelor’s in nursing from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama. Anthony graduated as a licensed practical nurse from Opelika Technical School in Opelika, Alabama, before training to become a registered nurse at Southern Union State Community College in Opelika. She also earned a certificate in biblical studies from Faith Baptist Bible College in Roanoke.
