Impacting our Community

Tanner Health System is a nonprofit healthcare provider. Our mission is to improve the health of the communities we serve — not to generate revenues for shareholders.

Investing in Our Future

Since 1949, Tanner Health System has proudly served its community by providing high-quality care and access to essential health care services. Whether through construction of a state-of-the-art Tanner Heart and Vascular Center on our Carrollton campus or the addition of clinics in underserved rural areas, Tanner consistently reinvests in the health of our region.

As a not-for-profit health system, Tanner also fulfills its mission by providing charitable care to those who could not otherwise afford it and partnering with local communities to create initiatives – such as Get Healthy, Life Well – to address chronic health conditions and improve quality of life.

Yet, Tanner’s contributions extend well beyond its programs and services. In an era where high-performing, financially strong hospitals are the exception – not the norm – Tanner continues to exceed expectations.

With the guidance of a long-tenured, highly skilled leadership team, our health system has consistently earned national recognition for its strong quality and financial performance.

  • Since 2012, Tanner Health System has been honored as one of the nation’s 15 Top Health Systems by Truven Analytics four times – more than any other health system in our region.
  • Leapfrog, Healthgrades and other quality rankings organizations have consistently recognized Tanner for its success meeting quality and patient safety measures.
  • Tanner has received numerous awards for providing outstanding patient experience and satisfaction by organizations including Press Ganey, Becker’s Hospital Review and Healthgrades.
  • Tanner has earned repeat recognition as a top workplace from local and national publications including Modern Healthcare and the Atlanta Business Chronicle.

Tanner is also a significant economic engine for the region – employing more than 3,350 people and – according to the most recent annual Economic Impact Report from the Georgia Hospital Association (GHA) – contributing more than $946.7 million in revenues to local economies and creating 8,861 full-time jobs.

This level of community support is provided throughout west Georgia without the assistance of taxpayer dollars or subsidies.

Simply put, this level of success does not happen by accident. Tanner Health System takes pride in its ability to create a work environment that attracts – and retains – high-performing employees and leaders who share a deep commitment to serving patients and fulfilling our charitable, not-for-profit mission.

To do that, we must continue to invest in the health of our system through expanded services, new facilities and technology, and competitive compensation and benefits for our people. We view this as an investment in our organization’s future and its ability to continue making an impact on the health of our communities.

On behalf of Tanner Health System’s independent Board of Directors, thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Daniel Jackson, Chairman
