Treatment Programs

Outpatient care

Most of those facing behavioral health challenges do not require inpatient hospitalization. Outpatient counseling and medication management can give you or a loved one the care you need to get back to a healthy life.

Willowbrooke at Tanner has the most robust outpatient behavioral health program in Georgia. You can move up to more intensive levels of treatment or step down as you need.

Outpatient care for adults, children (age 4 and up) and adolescents is available in Carrollton, Cartersville and Villa Rica.

Inpatient care

When necessary, we offer inpatient psychiatric care to help get you through a mental behavioral or emotional crisis with the safety and security of 24-hour supervision and around-the-clock care.

Our short-term inpatient care allows our patients to begin the healing process while acquiring the skills necessary to cope with everyday stresses in an intensive and medically-monitored therapeutic environment.

Inpatient care for adults, children (age 5 and up) and adolescents is available in Villa Rica.

Adult Mental Health and Substance Abuse Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Adults age 18 and older who are seeking help for emotional difficulties also may require attention for substance abuse or chemical dependency. We provide treatment for patients with this dual diagnosis.

The Adult Mental Health and Substance Abuse Partial Hospitalization Program is available to patients who could benefit from intensive treatment but who do not require 24-hour supervision. Patients return home every evening as they begin their journey toward recovery and learn to live a healthy life.

This program is available Monday through Friday, with meals and transportation provided in Carrollton, Cartersville and Villa Rica.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Different mental health needs require different levels of care. After completing a partial hospitalization program, patients will still need counseling or therapy.

The Intensive Outpatient Program at Willowbrooke at Tanner allows you to live at home with your family in familiar surroundings while receiving ongoing support from our behavioral health professionals.

Available for children age 4 and up, adolescents and adults.

Regain at Willowbrooke Recovery and Renewal Program

The Regain at Willowbrooke Recovery and Renewal Program is a confidential, outpatient addiction rehabilitation program (ASAM level 2.1) tailored for working professionals struggling with drug and alcohol dependency.

Our philosophy of care extends beyond that of a substance abuse treatment center. We are a recovery program that combines the best approach to rehabilitation with a highly private, individualized and outpatient healing experience — a remarkable level of care you’ll only find at Willowbrooke at Tanner.

Journey at Willowbrooke

Journey at Willowbrooke is an addiction rehabilitation program (ASAM level 1.0) available through the Willowbrooke Counseling Center for adults 18 years and older who are seeking treatment for alcohol and other drugs, but who do not require a higher level of care such as PHP, IOP or detox.

Journey is also an option for patients who have completed a higher level of care and are seeking a step-down program for relapse prevention. Journey employs the Matrix Model approach to treatment to assist patients in gaining the skills to avoid relapse prevention utilizing cognitive therapy, couples and family therapy, motivational enhancement, expressive therapy, group therapy, social support, 12-step groups and more.

Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Created specifically to help children and adolescents ages 5 to 17 who have behavior disorders or emotional needs, the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization Program provides more intensive treatment than outpatient counseling alone.

During the program, your child will learn skills to adapt and cope with their issues in a nurturing, respectful environment where they feel safe and valued. As part of the program, you and other family members are encouraged to be involved to help your child improve relationships and manage emotions.

This program is available Monday through Friday, with meals and transportation provided in Carrollton and Villa Rica.

When substance abuse problems are also involved, this program can be combined with the Adolescent Substance Abuse Partial Hospitalization Program listed above.

Tanner Intensive Family Intervention Program (TIFIP)

The Tanner Intensive Family Intervention Program (TIFIP) focuses on stabilizing the living arrangements for children ages 4 and up with emotional and behavioral concerns. Our therapists promote family reunification.

Out-of-home placement can often be prevented when therapists help both the child and the family learn to cope with situations and care for each other.

The TIFIP staff works with children and their families in-home several times per week and serves Carroll, Douglas, Haralson, Heard and Paulding counties.
