Dr. Akofu is board-certified in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She practices at West Georgia Center for Diabetes and Endocrinology in Carrollton, Georgia. She earned her medical degree from the University of Benin Medical School in Benin City, Nigeria. She completed a residency in internal medicine at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois. Dr. Akofu also completed a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri.
