Advanced stroke care

If you suspect that you or a loved one is having a stroke, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department — every second counts.

The faster a person suffering from a stroke is evaluated and undergoes appropriate treatment, the lower the risk of disability or death.

Our stroke team includes highly qualified neurohospitalists who implement leading-edge stroke care protocols. We offer advanced services including:

  • An innovative telemedicine system, enabling certified neurologists to consult virtually — day or night — with emergency department staff.
  • Secure, innovative technology platforms, enabling neurologists to evaluate, diagnose and prescribe treatment for stroke patients.
  • Care through our rehabilitation services and neurology follow-up to help you recover after a stroke.

Locations

Tanner Health System facilities are stroke care-designated through the American Heart Association/American Stroke Association and The Joint Commission. We offer services at the following locations:

  • Primary Stroke Center at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton
  • Primary Stroke Center at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica
  • Higgins General Hospital in Bremen, which has earned Advanced Disease-Specific Care Certification for Acute Stroke-Ready Hospitals
