About This Event

This advanced clinical training explores evidence-informed therapeutic interventions for children and adolescents with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) within behavioral health settings. The course emphasizes trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming and behaviorally informed approaches to assessment, communication, emotional regulation, crisis response and family systems work. Participants will deepen their understanding of neurobiological processes, cognitive-emotional regulation, validation-based communication, positive behavior supports (PBS) and advanced intervention planning for autistic youth with co-occurring behavioral and emotional challenges.

Special attention will be given to complex clinical presentations including masking, suicidality, trauma overlap, pathological demand avoidance (PDA), family accommodation patterns and ASD presentations in female-identifying adolescents.
