It could be peripheral artery disease, or PAD.
PAD is caused by blocked arteries in your legs. The blockages keep your legs from receiving the oxygen-rich blood they need, causing muscle pain, hair loss and making it difficult for wounds to heal.
Blocked arteries in your legs could also mean that you have blockage elsewhere, too — raising your risk for heart attacks, strokes and other complications.
