Neurosurgeons Said Elshihabi, MD, FAANS, and Richard Gullick, MD, FAANS, with Legacy Brain & Spine, have joined Tanner’s medical staff, offering neurospine surgery at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton as well as office-based interventional spine treatment at the practice.

Dr. Elshihabi is a board-certified neurosurgeon and the founder of Legacy Brain & Spine. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Sciences Center and completed a neurosurgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He has been practicing in Georgia since 2007. His interests include the management of surgical and non-surgical spinal disorders, concussion management, brain trauma and tumors.

Dr. Gullick is a board-certified neurosurgeon. He earned his medical degree from the Health Sciences F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine at Uniformed Services University in Washington, D.C. He completed a neurosurgical residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and a research fellowship at the Walter Reed Army Institute of Research. Dr. Gullick entered active duty with the United States Army in 2001. He completed a tour of duty in Iraq in 2004. After returning stateside, he served as the chief of neurosurgery at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas, until he became a civilian in 2008.

Dr. Elshihabi and Dr. Gullick perform a wide range of neurospine surgeries, including microdiscectomy, herniated and degenerative disc repairs and replacement, laminectomy, peripheral nerve decompression, spine compression fracture repair, spinal cord neuromodulation/stimulators and spinal deformity corrections. They will also perform cranial and brain surgery, beginning later this year.
