Youth Mental Health

One in five children ages 13 to 18 have — or will have — a serious mental illness, according to the National Institute of Mental Health.

That is why Healthy Haralson has implemented initiatives that will increase awareness of, reduce stigma related to and improve access to behavioral health services for youth.

Healthy Haralson and the Haralson County Chamber of Commerce have partnered with Bremen High School and Haralson County High School to revitalize the county’s Junior Leadership Task Force. Involving youth in solution driven activities and exposing them to leadership opportunities is one way to discover new ideas to address key issues and keep young leaders engaged in the community.

Willowbrooke at Tanner, the behavorial health service of Tanner Health System, offers a free training program to help individuals who work with children respond when a child or adolescent is experiencing a behavioral health challenge or crisis.
