Experience is invaluable
Get yours at Tanner
Your nursing program has done a lot to teach you about the fundamentals of nursing. Where your formal education leaves off, Tanner Health System begins, not only educating you, but preparing you.
The Tanner Nurse Residency Program pairs graduate nurses — including registered nurses and licensed practical nurses — with some of our most experienced nursing professionals, giving you the confidence to practice at the top of your licensure. Tanner’s nursing residency lasts about 12 weeks, pairing hands-on training in a clinical setting with online coursework, classroom instruction and mentoring from our nursing experts. The residency begins with eight-hour days for the first four weeks, then rolls into traditional 12-hour shifts.
Nurses gain insight and experience in a range of clinical areas, including:
- Behavioral health
- Cardiac care
- Critical care
- Emergency care
- Home health/hospice care
- Maternity care
- Medical-surgical care
- Surgical services
In addition, Tanner helps graduate nurses prepare for their licensure testing, ensuring nurses are ready to pass their boards and practice exceptional care, getting their careers off to a fantastic start.
