Rehabilitation Therapies

Rehabilitation therapies help you regain the strength and skills to live independently after an injury or illness.

At Tanner, our rehabilitation services work with you while you’re in the hospital, while you’re transitioning to home care or a nursing facility, in your home or on an outpatient basis.

Our services include:

  • Outpatient physical therapy, helping you regain your strength and mobility outside the hospital
  • Inpatient physical therapy, working with you while you’re in the hospital
  • Speech therapy, helping you re-learn how to speak and swallow
  • Occupational therapy, helping you regain the skills you need for daily living
As part of Tanner Health System, our rehabilitation therapies are offered as part of a complete approach to the whole person. We work closely with our accredited stroke care program, Tanner Orthopedic and Spine Center and other services for seamless care.

Before your visit

For each visit, wear loose-fitting, comfortable clothing such as sweat pants, gym shorts and flat shoes. Tell your therapist about any pain you are having or new medications you may be taking before you begin your therapy session.

What to expect during your visit

Once you are evaluated, your therapist will work with you to develop goals you will focus on in therapy to speed your recovery. Therapy sessions are generally 30 to 45 minutes long.

You may be given exercises to perform at home in between treatments. Since you may see other patients in our treatment areas, please remember that all rehabilitation treatment is confidential.
