Gynecologic Robotic Surgery - Megan Grilliot, MD

Almost any gynecological surgery can be performed robotically according to Megan Grilliot, MD, a gynecologist and obstetrics specialist with Tanner Healthcare for Women, however hysterectomies, procedures on the ovaries and complex endometriosis surgeries most often utilize that technology.

Robotic surgery means smaller incisions, less pain, a lower infection rate, a shorter hospital stay and an easier recovery. Gynecologic robotic surgery gets you back to your life faster. Watch the video to learn more.

Heavy Periods? Learn About Endometrial Ablation - Tiffany Stanfill, MD

Endometrial ablation is used to treat heavy bleeding, which can be caused by fibroid uterus or adnenomyosis. According to Dr. Stanfill, a board-certified OB/GYN with Tanner Healthcare for Women, the procedure takes only 25-45 minutes and can be perfomed in a hospital or office setting, with discharge the same day and a return to normal activities in two days. Following this procedure, most patients have no (or considerably less) menstrual bleeding each month. Watch the video to learn more.

Minimally Invasive Hysterectomy - Ryan Davis, MD

Minimally invasive hysterectomy is usually a surgery suggested for women who are suffering from chronic pelvic pain or heavy abnormal menstrual bleeding that is not alleviated by hormone therapy. According to Dr. Davis, a board-certified OB/GYN specialist with Tanner Healthcare for Women, hysterectomy is typically the last resort, but it gives many women the symptom relief they need to live a happy life. The procedure involves four very small incisions, with or without the use of a surgical robot. Patients usually go home the same day or the next. Recovery is 3-5 days of low to moderate pain, followed by a release to return to normal activities except for 3-5 weeks of restricted lifting. Watch the video to learn more.
