Your Checklist for Pelvic Health

Pelvic health problems can be uncomfortable to talk about — but they’re even more uncomfortable to live with.

You can take some solace in knowing that pelvic health issues are not at all exclusive to you; many women experience the symptoms of pelvic health issues. As many as a quarter of all women experience pelvic floor issues and other problems. And honestly, many of those issues can be effectively addressed with proven clinical approaches to care, alleviating symptoms and helping you get on with your life.

Make note of any applicable pelvic health issues below to see if you need the help of a pelvic health specialist:

  • Involuntarily losing urine (even when you laugh, lift a heavy object, sneeze, etc.)
  • Urgent need to urinate
  • Waking twice or more a night to urinate
  • Inability to completely drain the bladder
  • Vaginal dryness or discomfort
  • Vaginal or other pelvic organ prolapse
  • Sexual issues, including loss of libido or pain with intercourse
  • Bowel issues (including chronic constipation, straining or pain with bowel movements, fecal incontinence, etc.)
  • Inability to control the release of gas
  • Bladder or bowel issues that impact your social, personal or work life

If you "checked" any of the items in the list above, a clinical approach to pelvic health can help. Learn more about Tanner’s pelvic health services by clicking the Women’s Services tab at TannerWomensCare.org or find a qualified pelvic health specialist by calling 770-214-CARE (2273).
