Why Breastfeeding Matters

Many people have heard that breastfeeding provides the best nutrition for babies and helps protect against disease.

But only 38 percent of infants are exclusively breastfed, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). That’s why the WHO has set a target to increase the breastfeeding rate by 50 percent by 2025.
