Specializing in the Care and Treatment of Infections and Diseases

While many infections are addressed by primary care providers, such as an internist or family physician, other infections may require more specialized attention for successful treatment. This specialized level of care ensures that patients receive focused attention from physicians with expertise in this field of medicine.

The specialists at Infectious Diseases of West Georgia are committed to following patients for the duration of an infection and will help patients understand how to avoid future complications. Once treatment is completed, we will refer the patient back to his or her primary care physician. If he or she does not have a primary care physician, we will assist him or her through Tanner’s physician referral service.

Infectious Diseases of West Georgia utilizes the Patient-Centered Medical Home practice model, a team-based, physician-led approach to providing health care. As part of Tanner Medical Group, Infectious Diseases of West Georgia has access to all resources of Tanner Health System, a regional healthcare provider serving communities throughout west Georgia and east Alabama.
