Caring for a loved one who is ill or living with a disability can be stressful emotionally, financially and physically for those who care for them. Research has found high rates of anxiety and depression among family caregivers, as well as increased vulnerability to health problems. Caregivers frequently cite restriction of personal activities and social life as problems. They often feel they have no control over events, and that feeling of powerlessness has a significant negative impact on a caregivers’ health.
