You can make a difference
At Tanner Health System, our volunteers are one of our greatest treasures. From staffing
information desks, cheer carts and gift shops, to escorting patients to and from treatment, our volunteers are an important part of our healthcare team and brighten the lives of our patients.
Volunteer programs are available at all of our locations — Bremen, Carrollton, and Villa Rica — each serving the needs of its own hospital and community.
For additional information or to volunteer, please call Volunteer Services at 770.836.9757 or 770.836.9251.
Volunteer Services
As a Tanner Health System volunteer, you will become part of our mission to serve as a leader in a collaborative effort with the community to provide health education, support services and care for all our citizens. Volunteers are an important part of our organization, providing thousands of service hours to our three hospitals. Whether you take the cheer cart around to the patients’ rooms, staff fundraising events or work in the gift shop, your efforts have a direct and positive impact on Tanner Health System and the patients we serve.
Eligibility
Adults 18 years and older may apply to participate in the adult volunteer program by contacting Volunteer Services at 770.836.9757 or 770.836.9251. The staff in Volunteer Services will pass the contact information along to the Tanner Auxiliary and a member of the Auxiliary will contact you for an interview.
Opportunities for Teens, Too!
Our summer volunteer program is for teens between the ages of 13 and 17. The program offers an important opportunity to help others and to find out if there is an interest in health care as a potential career. Applications are available in the spring through area schools and Volunteer Services. Parents of interested teens should read this letter.
Volunteer Assignments
Volunteers perform a variety of tasks. Some assignments have a great deal of patient contact and interaction, while others have very limited patient contact.
The volunteer men and women can be seen throughout the hospitals delivering mail, escorting patients to and from treatments, answering the telephones at the information desks and staffing the gift shops. Other volunteers assist in the surgical areas, ICU, cardiac rehabilitation and help with fundraising activities.
