Harmony for Healing Music Therapy Performance

Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton
John H. Burson III, MD, Atrium

July 14, 2019  |  1:30 PM  -  2:30 PM

Pianist Eo Jin Kim performs classical pieces and new age style music as part of Tanner Health System's Harmony for Healing music therapy program. Born in South Korea, Kim began playing piano at 9 years old. He participated in numerous piano competitions through age 15 and won around 20 trophies. Based on a competition judge’s suggestion, he then studied piano formally for three years. Mostly, Kim enjoys playing classical pieces by composers such as Chopin, Debussy, Schuman and many others. His favorite genre is classical piano, but he also plays hymns, contemporary Christian music and pop songs. Kim enjoys volunteering as a piano performer for organizations that help the disabled, teaching piano for children ages 7 to 10 and serving as pianist in church. He is currently a sophomore at the University of West Georgia, majoring in economics.

All Harmony for Healing performances are held in the John H. Burson III, MD, Atrium on the first floor of Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, facing Dixie Street, and are free to the public. Unless otherwise noted, all volunteer performers are from the west Georgia area. The music therapy program is funded through gifts to Tanner Medical Foundation. Proceeds are used to continue Harmony for Healing performances with the goal of hiring a full-time music therapist. For more information about the program, please contact Tanner Medical Foundation at 770-812-GIFT (770-812-4438).
