Harmony for Healing Music Therapy Performance

Flutist Janice Joyce Robinson performs a mix of pieces from baroque, classical and modern eras as part of Tanner Health System’s Harmony for Healing music therapy program. Robinson has bachelor’s and master’s degrees in music performance (flute) from the University of Georgia and the University of West Georgia, respectively. Between degrees, she studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England. Robinson has taught classes and performed concerts throughout the southeastern United States and as far away as Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. She has recorded and performed with the National Flute Choir and currently performs and travels with the International Flute Orchestra. In addition, Janice has been selected to perform at several state flute conferences and National Flute Association Conventions. Robinson has studied flute performance with flute masters such as William Bennett, Stephen Preston, Eldred Spell, Clare Southworth and Trevor Wye. Currently, she is the 2nd flute with the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, a freelance musician and the flute instructor at Bremen High and Middle Schools.


All Harmony for Healing performances are held in the John H. Burson III, MD, Atrium on the first floor of Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, facing Dixie Street, and are free to the public. Unless otherwise noted, all volunteer performers are from the west Georgia area. The music therapy program is funded through gifts to Tanner Medical Foundation. Proceeds are used to continue Harmony for Healing performances with the goal of hiring a full-time music therapist.
