Our Communities

Family walking on trailAt Tanner Health System, our workforce includes more than 3,000 employees and a staff of more than 300 physicians — all critical team members charged with maintaining Tanner Health System's reputation as an exceptional healthcare provider.

Tanner has facilities and practices in Carroll, Douglas, Haralson, Heard and Paulding counties in Georgia and Randolph County in Alabama. Our employees live in communities that boast small-town charm near big-city amenities, creating an exceptional quality of life.

Tanner is headquartered in Carrollton, the largest city in Carroll County. Located 45 miles west of Atlanta and 90 miles east of Birmingham, Carroll County is the heart of west Georgia and forms the western boundary of metropolitan Atlanta. It is easily accessed by Interstate 20 and either US Highway 27 or US Highway 61. Carroll County's population of more than 100,000 people live, work and play in seven picturesque towns, ranging from the smallest, Roopville, with more than 200 residents, to Carrollton with a population of more than 23,200.

The Carrollton GreenBelt is an 18-mile shared-use path designed for pedestrians and non-motorized users. The trail connects existing Carrollton neighborhoods with Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, the city school campus, the University of West Georgia, city parks and several commercial shopping areas.
