Ruby C. Green Memorial Yard Sale
Raises over $3,800

Annual fundraiser provides mammograms
at Tanner Breast Health

West Georgia Ambulance hosted the annual Ruby C. Green Memorial Yard Sale on Saturday, November 4, 2006, in their parking lot, located on the corner of Highway 27 and Columbia Drive. Record proceeds over $3,800 were donated to Tanner Medical Foundation to provide mammograms for patients who cannot afford these important screenings for the early detection of cancer.

Ruby C. Green, a paramedic for West Georgia Ambulance, died from breast cancer. Following her death, the employees of West Georgia Ambulance have held an annual yard sale in her memory. “When Ruby’s cancer was discovered, it was already in an advanced stage. Through this memorial fund, we hope to help spread the word about the importance of early detection of breast cancer. Ruby was always quietly helping those in need, and we know she would have been pleased about this fund,” says Sharon Stanford of West Georgia Ambulance.

Donations of items to be sold in the annual yard sale are welcome. For more information, please call West Georgia Ambulance at 770.832.9689.
