At Tanner Health System, our volunteers are one of our greatest treasures. Whether serving at information desks, gift shops, cheer or coffee/news carts or escorting patients, our volunteers brighten the lives of our patients and are an important part of Tanner’s healthcare team.
Each activity to which volunteers dedicate their time has a direct and positive impact on Tanner Health System patients and staff. By volunteering, you are providing not only a valuable service but giving the most precious gift you have to the community—your time.
Volunteer programs are available at all of our locations — Bremen, Carrollton, and Villa Rica — each serving the needs of its own hospital and community.

Volunteer services
As a volunteer with Tanner Health System, you become part of Tanner’s mission to serve as a leader in a collaborative effort with the community. That collaboration provides health education, support services and care for all the residents of west Georgia and East Alabama.
Volunteer assignments
The smiling faces of our volunteers can be seen throughout the hospital. Some assignments have a great deal of patient contact and interaction, while others have very limited patient contact. We serve in multiple sites at each facility, in a variety of roles.
Gift shops are located in each of Tanner’s three hospitals that are operated by our volunteers with unique gifts. These include the Lamplighter Gift Shop in Carrollton, Golden Treasures in Villa Rica and Reflections in Bremen.

Eligibility
There are volunteer opportunities for Adults, College Students and high school students in our healthcare system. There are very specific criteria for our high school student program (Teens in Action) and the number accepted is very limited. Please read the criteria carefully for eligibility of this group.
