Visiting Hours and Policies

Visiting policies

For the comfort and safety of our patients, visitors should not overcrowd the patient rooms. As a general rule, two or three visitors are allowed in a patient’s room at one time. We strongly encourage visitors to keep their visiting times to a minimum. Children under the age of 12 may visit with the permission of the nurse.

Hours

  • General care areas:  11 a.m. to 9 p.m. To make certain patients are not disturbed after regular visiting hours, the entrance to the medical center is closed. If visitors arrive after 9 p.m., they should enter through the Emergency Department and pick up a night visitor’s pass. Overnight visits should be arranged with a nurse prior to the visit.
  • Intensive care units:  8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. To protect the patient’s privacy, please call extension 9508 before entering the ICU area. ICU doors will be closed and locked after visiting hours. If the patient’s condition allows, one family member will be allowed at bedside during visiting hours. Children under the age if 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Due to safety concerns, please consult with the nurse prior to allowing any child to visit. Shoes must be worn at all times. Personal bedding supplies are not permitted.

Smoking

Please note that smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the hospital. Tanner appreciates your understanding and compliance with these matters. There are designated smoking areas outside the hospital.
