Posted Date: 9/21/2012
For people who live with pain, relief can be fleeting. Effective pain management requires a comprehensive approach to the conditions that are causing pain, as well as interventional therapies and treatments that provide lasting relief.
Tanner Pain Management Center, which temporarily suspended operations in late June, is once again serving patients with the arrival of two physicians who specialize in pain management: Hans Miller, MD, and Hess Panjeton, MD.
Dr. Miller earned his medical degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine in Macon, and completed his internship in family practice, obstetrics and gynecology at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News, Va., and his residency in anesthesiology at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus, where he also completed a fellowship in pain management. Dr. Miller also holds a master’s in business administration/finance from Georgia State University in Atlanta. He is board-certified in anesthesiology and pain medicine.
Dr. Panjeton earned his medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Fla., and completed his internship in internal medicine at Richmond University Medical Center in Staten Island, N.Y. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital/University of Miami and a fellowship in interventional pain management at Emory University in Atlanta.
With Tanner Pain Management Center, Dr. Miller and Dr. Panjeton will be part of an advanced, comprehensive approach to help people who live with chronic pain, pain caused by cancer or cancer treatment, pain resulting from surgery or injuries and more. With access to the full resources of Tanner Health System, including behavioral health experts with Willowbrooke at Tanner and a staff of surgical specialists and neurologists, Tanner Pain Management Center provides more complete care for pain.
A physician referral is necessary for a patient to schedule an appointment at Tanner Pain Management Center. Dr. Miller and Dr. Panjeton will communicate with and work alongside referring physicians to help prescribe complementary therapies and ensure more continuous care for patients.
