Rajat Jhanjee, MD, MSEE, Joins Tanner Heart & Vascular Specialists

Rajat Jhanjee, MD, a fellowship-trained clinical electrophysiologist and board-certified cardiologist, is joining Tanner Heart & Vascular Specialists, adding clinical electrophysiology to Tanner’s line of advanced cardiac services.

Dr. Jhanjee earned a master’s in electrical engineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and worked as an electrical engineer for Dallas Semiconductor and Guidant Co. before enrolling in medical school at the University of Minnesota. There, he earned his medical degree, completed his internship and residency in internal medicine, as well as fellowships in cardiovascular research, clinical cardiology and clinical electrophysiology.

“As an electrical engineer, I worked with companies that developed and manufactured the equipment that cardiologists used to address electrical anomalies in the heart,” said Dr. Jhanjee. “I became interested in the other side of what I was doing – in how the devices and technologies I was working on were being used to improve people’s lives in practice. That’s why I enrolled in medical school and studied cardiac electrophysiology, and now I’m ready to bring what I’ve learned from both the aspects of development and practice to our patients.”

At Tanner Heart & Vascular Specialists, Dr. Jhanjee will provide a wide range of cardiac care, including ablation, pacemaker placement and other electrophysiological services.
