Foundation presents Spirit of Giving Award

Tanner Medical Foundation presented the fourth annual Spirit of Giving award to Mr. Steve Adams at the annual donor appreciation luncheon on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
The Spirit of Giving award honors an individual who has touched lives through the giving of both time and financial assets in support of Tanner Health System and has taken steps to ensure the tradition of philanthropy is continued by future generations.
Philanthropist Steve Adams (center), pictured with Loy Howard, CEO of Tanner Health System (left) and Susan Fleck, Chair of Tanner Medical Foundation’s Board of Directors (right), was presented with the 2012 Tanner Medical Foundation Spirit of Giving Award.
Adams was honored for his service to Tanner and to the region, having served organizations in the human service and healthcare fields, including the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, the Emergency Medical Health Services Advisory Board, the Tanner Medical Center Authority Board, the Carroll County Health Department Board and the Carrollton Symphony Orchestra Board.
He currently serves a member of the Board of Directors for both Tanner Medical Foundation and Tanner Medical Center, Inc. Adams is President/CEO of West Georgia Ambulance, one of the southeast’s largest privately owned ambulance services, and President/CEO of Southeastrans, Inc., a transportation management company that specializes in publicly funded non-emergency medical transportation programs.
“Giving back has been a very important part of our honoree’s life,” said Susan Fleck, Chair of Tanner Medical Foundation’s Board of Directors. “Carroll County, and our entire region, has benefited tremendously from the personal and professional accomplishments of this gentleman.”
“It is our privilege to honor Steve Adams with Tanner Medical Foundation’s Spirit of Giving Award,” said Denise Taylor, president and CEO of Tanner Medical Foundation. “His tireless dedication to our community’s health and well-being is an inspiration to us all.”
Upon receiving the Spirit of Giving award, Mr. Adams remarked, “I am very proud to serve and be part of Carroll County. One of the things about Carroll County is that it always gives back. It’s given so much to me. Thank you for this honor.”
