Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton Construction Update: Ambulance Drive to Reopen Aug. 30
Posted Date: 7/27/2010
Ambulance Drive on the Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton campus is expected to reopen on Aug. 30.
The section of Ambulance Drive from the three-way stop to the Emergency Department entrance on the Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton campus has been closed while crews worked to expand a parking deck.
The affected stretch of road lies along the north side of the Clinic Avenue Parking Deck, between Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton and the West Georgia Specialty Center on the hospital campus. Ambulances and patients will be able to access the Emergency Department by taking Ambulance Drive from Dixie Street. Traffic has still be able to access the Tanner Medical Foundation and Tanner Marketing and Public Relations offices by taking Ambulance Drive from Clinic Avenue.
Early last month, crews temporarily closed the Clinic Avenue Parking Deck on Ambulance Drive that serves many Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton outpatient and emergency department visitors. The the lower two floors of the deck are expected to reopen, and will be used primarily by Tanner employees, freeing-up parking in the newer Dixie Street parking deck adjacent to the hospital for patients and visitors.
A portion of the parking lot in front of the outpatient/short stay entrance that faces Clinic Avenue will remain closed. Access to the walking trails on the hospital campus is not affected.
Once these improvements are complete, patients and visitors will enjoy improved access to the many services available from Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton.
