21st Annual Tanner Hospice Holiday Food Sale a Success
Posted Date: 11/19/2012
Eager shoppers lined up more than two hours before the doors opened to the 21st Annual Tanner Hospice Holiday Food Sale on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton.
An estimated 300 people took part in the food sale, which opened with 24 tables filled with about 500 homemade dishes, including casseroles, turkeys, barbecue, hors d’oeuvres, soups and desserts. Within 30 minutes, only five tables of food remained.
Once again this year, the Carrollton High School’s Health Care Science Students of America (CHS HOSA) supported the food sale. The students made a $2,854 donation with money raised from school fundraisers.
All funds raised from the sale help Tanner Hospice Care patients who could not otherwise afford hospice care, including the purchase of medications and needed in-home medical equipment.
