Eager shoppers lined up more than two hours before the doors opened to the 21st Annual Tanner Hospice Holiday Food Sale on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the First Baptist Church in Carrollton. An estimated 300 people took part in the food sale, which opened with 24 tables filled with about 500 homemade dishes, including casseroles, turkeys, barbecue, hors d’oeuvres, soups and desserts. Duke Blackburn, and his wife, Wedowee artist, Lynn Blackburn, donated the painting “Sun Through the Trees” to hang in new Tanner/East Alabama facility in Wedowee. The painting was unveiled during the facility’s open house on Saturday, May 4.
