High blood pressure, high cholesterol, irregular heartbeat, peripheral artery disease – odds are, someone you know has one of these health problems. One-in-three adults in this region live with cardiovascular disease.

Join the team of highly-skilled cardiologists from Tanner Heart & Vascular Specialists, part of Tanner Medical Group, and other healthcare professionals from Tanner Health System for this special yearlong series of presentations on heart health.

  • All sessions will be held in the Health Education and Wellness Learning Center at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton and in the Education and Conference Center, located on the third floor of the VillaWest medical office building at Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica.
  • All sessions are free and open to the public.
  • Each session begins at noon and lunch will be provided for those who register in advance.

Shazib Khawaja, MD

Dr. Khawaja is board-certified in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology by the American Board of Medicine and in endovascular medicine by the American Board of Vascular Medicine. He is also board-certified in vascular medicine. He is medical director of interventional cardiology and endovascular interventions for Tanner Health System.

His areas of expertise include nuclear cardiology, coronary angioplasty, stenting, peripheral vascular disease, peripheral angioplasty and other associated procedures.

Dr. Khawaja practices with Christopher Arant, MD, Onaje Greene, MD, FACC, FASNC, and William Rogers, MD, FACC, at Tanner Heart & Vascular Specialists, with locations in Carrollton, Villa Rica, Bremen and Woodland, Ala.
