Effective Jan. 1, 2011, no tobacco use of any kind, including smoking and smokeless tobacco, will be permitted anywhere on Tanner Health System’s four hospital campuses – Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica, Higgins General Hospital in Bremen and the inpatient behavioral health facility Willowbrooke at Tanner in Villa Rica.
For patients, Tanner will offer tobacco cessation education and nicotine replacement sources – such as patches – based on the patient’s desire and his or her physician’s orders. Visitors are encouraged to bring nicotine replacement therapies if unable to refrain from tobacco use for the duration of their visit.
