In the emergency department
We want our patients and their families to be as comfortable as possible while they are in one of Tanner's emergency departments. Our waiting rooms are cheerful and kid-friendly. Food and beverages are available in our cafes during normal business hours or vending areas. All three hospitals have gift shops. And our emergency exam rooms include a television and a chair for a family member to sit with the patient.
Emergency department to patient room
If your emergency department visit requires admission to one of our hospitals, Tanner has processes in place to make this process smooth as possible. You'll go straight from the emergency department to a comfortable, adjustable bed in your hospital room as soon as possible.
At times, emergency department patients and/or their families may need the spiritual comfort of prayer or conversation with a minister. Chaplains are available at all times. To contact a chaplain, ask your nurse, call the operator, or call the chaplain at extension 9461.
There are chapels for your meditation and prayer needs in two Tanner hospitals: The Claudette Hays, MD, Memorial Chapel on the first floor in Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, and The Berry Family Memorial Prayer Room in Tanner Medical Center/Villa Rica. Simply ask someone at the emergency room or main hospital desk for directions from your location.
