Since 1998, Healthgrades has been independently providing consumers valuable quality information about the nation’s nearly 5,000 nonfederal hospitals. In this ninth annual study of overall clinical performance, Healthgrades objectively identified the hospitals with the best clinical performance for 26 diagnoses and procedures combined. The 268 top-performing hospitals represent only 5 percent of the nation’s hospitals and each is designated as a Healthgrades Distinguished Hospital for Clinical Excellence™.
Outstanding Patient Experience Award
For the Healthgrades Outstanding Patient Experience Award&™, Healthgrades utilizes Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey data to determine which hospitals deliver a superior experience for patients cared for at their facility. From this data, Healthgrades is able to determine which of the hospitals eligible are also in the top 10 percent of the nation—a designation that just 339 hospitals received for their ability to provide an exemplary stay for their patients.
