Gingerbread Kids

The fall of 2009, Carrollton City Schools and Tanner Medical Foundation partnered to raise funds for children’s expressive art therapy programs of Willowbrooke at Tanner. The program “Gingerbread Kids” was held from Nov. 2-13, raising more than $6,100.

Students from Carrollton Elementary School, Carrollton Middle School and Carrollton Junior High School had the opportunity to purchase “Gingerbread Kids” cutouts for 50 cents each to display in their classroom. The top two classrooms at each school that displayed the most “Gingerbread Kids” cutouts and therefore raised the most dollars had the opportunity to meet Tanner Health System’s Executive Chef Thomas Wild on Saturday, Dec. 5 and help him decorate the 350-pound gingerbread house that was on display at the atrium of Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton. More than 150 students and parents attended the festivities.
