Horses respond like an emotional mirror to human behavior. Interacting with horses can help people with mental health issues understand their feelings and behaviors, and how that affects their relationships with others.
Equine therapy is a summer program that is part of the Child and Adolescent Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Program, and is available to children and families in the Intensive Family Intervention Program.
It is offered in collaboration with Rachel’s Wish Foundation and the Possum Snout Arena in Tallapoosa.
