For nearly 5 million people each year, receiving blood is a matter of life or death. Blood is needed for emergencies and for people who have cancer, blood disorders, sickle cell anemia and other illnesses. Some people need regular blood transfusions to live.
Tanner Health System sponsors regular blood drives with the American Red
Cross at Tanner Medical Center/Carrollton, Tanner Medical Center/Villa
Rica and Higgins General Hospital in Bremen.
Blood donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 100 pounds and allow at least eight weeks (56 days) to lapse since their last blood donation.
You may make an appointment to donate blood at any of Tanner's upcoming blood drives by going to www.redcrossblood.org. Use sponsor code tannerhealth. Walk-ins are also welcome, but those with appointments will be given priority.
