Each suite includes state-of-the-art equipment, new home-like furnishings, a full bath and a private waiting room for your family. Rooming-in and mother-baby care options that allow you to spend time with your baby before you leave the hospital are available. Talk with your physician about these options.

Monitoring and security for your new baby

In those first hours, it’s important to be alert to baby’s every move. The W. Steve Worthy Maternity Center's Level II nursery contains the most advanced equipment available for monitoring infants after delivery. Tanner also employs specialized security measures to ensure the safety of new mothers and their babies during your stay.

We’ve planned for family and friends, too

Everyone’s waiting to welcome the newest member of your family—the brand-new branch of your family tree! Tanner understands the importance of family and loved ones at this most meaningful time, so the W. Steve Worthy Maternity Center has been especially designed for the convenience of family members, complete with comfortable waiting areas and telephones. And if you’d like to have a few loved ones especially close by at the time of baby’s birth, each labor and delivery suite is equipped with a private waiting room.

Visitors are welcome

Your family and friends are welcome to visit you and your new baby in the maternity center. Visiting hours for those other than the primary support person are from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Likewise, your new baby's brothers and sisters are encouraged to be part of their family's growth at this special time; however, Tanner asks visitors to refrain from bringing children who are younger than 12 years of age to the maternity center.

Maintaining a safe environment for your baby means providing protection against germs and viruses than can be detrimental to pregnant women and new babies, both of whom have compromised immune systems that make them more susceptible.

Loved ones who have respiratory infections or a fever should not visit the maternity center. To ensure your safety as well as the safety of other patients, your patient care team also may place restrictions on visitation as deemed medically necessary. The safety and health of you and your newborn are paramount.
